Make sure to have a licensed contractor that is insured as well. research your preferred one and look into their reviews, warranties, and the quality of their work. You can ask for free inspections or estimates in order to help you easily plan your next steps.

CALL YOUR HOME INSURANCE PROVIDER

It is best to contact your home insurance provider as soon as possible after finding major damage to your home. Most insurance companies have a set timeline where you can file a claim after a storm, so acting quickly is highly recommended. The insurance company might send out their own adjustor to inspect your home, and if enough damage is found they will give you adequate compensation based on your results.
